Hornby O-gauge Train room

My new train room. I have rebuilt my train room in the winter of 2007-2008. As you can see from this picture, I try to have my Hornby 0-gauge layout reflect the 30's. On the layout, all the electrical accessories are lit up. I do still have a large part of my collection neatly sitting on shelves beneath the layout, but many items have now found a permanent place on my layout.

A closer look at the station area. No. 2 Windsor Stations with Windsor Island Platforms and Platform Extensions. All from the 1929-1933 period.

On another side of the layout two glass cabinets are integrated beneath the loco shed. For running the 3-track layout, I use Gaugemaster controllers.

A closer look at the loco shed with some Hornby E120-series locos as the E120 Special Locomotive, E120 Special Tank Locomotive and E120 Locomotive.

Hornby O-gauge Boxes

This is why they call me a cardboard freak. About 75% of the items in my collection have their original boxes. All my boxes are part of the display in my train room. These are the shelves with boxes for wagons and boxes for accessories.

A separate loco shed is built up using the Hornby Control System. The 3 running tracks are made with double track (outside 2). For all the other tracks, I have used post-war French tinplate track with level sleepers.

Hornby O-gauge Earthing Clips

I like the tiny details of the vintage Hornby 0-gauge range. The electrical accessories, as the No. 2E Double Arm Signal and the 2E Signal Cabin, are connected to the rails using the original Hornby earthing/bonding clips. For the Track Connecting Plates, I use the original red Meccano plugs (see photo above).
